Search Engine Optimization (SEO) process is changing!

Link building was at one point of time the most important part of the search engine optimization process. Digital marketing Professional used to focus on this activity to get their portals and websites on higher Search Engine Research Pages (SERP)listings. However, some programmers developed applications to automate the process of link building. With such software, they were able to create a number of backlinks by writing replicating codes. This hack worked effectively where website with more number of backlinks wereranked higher on the search engines. This is when Industry was introduced with enhanced SEO algorithms that were not very dependent on the link building process. Of course link building still matters – has some importance - butonly when it'scoming from highly authority sources. This also means that the process of Digital marketing will have to devote more time to link building using high quality web links.

The SEO process has evolved with time and by now has anintelligence to understand which website is good and if any systems is trying to trickit. As of today there are many variables that play a role to provide your site a good search engine ranking. Previously link building was numbersgame, hence the traditional backlinking method has been thrown out of the Google ecosystem. This also means that various applications/software made for creating backlinks are ineffective considering the SEO algorithms have changed.

By now Search engines like Google and Binghave shifted their focus on quality than the quantity. That said, even if you have many backlinks directing to your website your page ranking may not get any boost – as it may be coming from inferior sources. Instead the content on the website – provided its quality content – can get listed high on search engines.

As an Internet portal if you want to get indexed higher on the popular search engines you might have to get back to basics and implement following action plan-

1. Create unique content

The content that is being created must be unique and not listed anywhere else on the World Wide Web. Search Engine Optimization algorithms are capable of finding copies of the duplicated text on the Internet and may not help you get listed at the top of search engines.

2. Create relevant content

Content Relevancy is also of great importance for better visibility on the Internet. You should focus on creating links at high authority sites within the same niche where your website belongs to. Link building using non-relevant source may not fetch the results as expected.

3. Build links in the High PR sites and Authority indices

One should focus on building links with high PR/high Authority sites as it may provide you few pints and possible upgrade on a search engines index. You can further choose to build links on recognized website, such as Government institutions (with .Gov domain) and educational institutions(with .Edu domain) like Universities and Schools.

4. Use social networks

You will have to make optimum use of known social networks such as 'Facebook' and 'LinkedIn' and further use 'Postplanner' to schedule updates. Going ahead, you can set up you post using 'twitter cards' to gain maximum engagement. And in case you website hosts any images you can make those images 'Pinterest' friendly busing services like 'Sway.' You can use digital marketing services like to automatically stream and share the contents on various social channels.

5. Use popularBlog Creator

Make use of high PR blogs such as 'Blogger' and 'Tumbler' to share content about the website. Further, you can be part of web based community and make sure to share the content again at a later stage and later time.

6. Use of Analytics

SEO professionals can further make use of Google Analytics or Buffer Analytics to monitor results. Further, they can find influencers on blog intelligence services like 'GroupHigh' and build relationships using online services like Moz.'

Google still is the king of Search and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has moved from panda to penguin and now heading towards hummingbird. Withevery algorithm, there are innovation and sensibility to the process of Internet visibility. Original content along with genuine efforts of SEO experts can drive the Website ranking to the top of search results. At the same time it’s no more one day effort where excessive link building would yield results. It is clear that digital marketing has entered the era of Content Development. That said the indexing over search engines is dependent of 'Brand' rather than anything else!
